Early Life and Education

Collins Chisom Ugwuonah grew up in a culturally rich environment where music, hustle, and ambition were a way of life. Despite coming from humble beginnings, he developed a sharp sense of determination early on. His parents instilled in him the importance of education and discipline, qualities that later reflected in his pursuit of higher learning.

He attended Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) where he studied Material and Metallurgical Engineering (MME). While engineering shaped his problem-solving mindset, it was within the hustle of campus life that he discovered his true calling music.

The Beginning of a Music Journey

Before the world knew him as SUBZIRO, he started out on campus music stages and local freestyle sessions under the name King Sly. He became known around ESUT for his razor-sharp lyrics, confident stage presence, and storytelling that came straight from real-life experiences in the trenches.

SUBZIRO was never just chasing clout—he was building a legacy.

Rebranding and Career Takeoff

In 2024, he officially transformed from King Sly to SUBZIRO, a name that symbolizes clarity, transformation, and rebirth. The rebrand marked the birth of a stronger identity and a deeper artistic vision.

That same year, he made his professional debut with the street anthem “Ni’Me Ogbe.” The song introduced him as a fearless new player in Nigerian rap combining Eastern street slang, raw emotions, and militant delivery. The track gained attention online and on the streets, earning him recognition beyond Enugu.

Rising Through the Ranks

Shortly after his debut, SUBZIRO secured a deal with Kucci World Records, where he began shaping his music career on a larger scale.
