The way this missing person thriller series work is it doles out information at its own pace. There are several leads chased by the police that lead to nowhere. And then there are hints that the police ignore that prove to be important later on. In the end, childhood enmities are proven to be a big factor. Now, this is something the series itself teases through flashbacks.

I did say the series has several twists throughout its fairly short six episodes. But to this scribe, at least, the final reveal was not as surprising. That being said, the journey that the series takes the viewer makes it worthwhile.

So what, exactly, is D/o Prasad Rao: Kanabadutaledu about? It mainly follows a father and his daughter living in small town Telangana. A father Prasad Rao (Rajeev Kanakala) nurtured his daughter Swathi (Vasanthika Macha) lovingly since his childhood and was always loathe to let her disappear from his sight. One could say he was a little paranoid and fussy about her.

The little grew up into a kind and empathetic young woman (Vasanthika Macha). She was also good at her studies and secured a job at a reputed tech company in Hyderabad as a software engineer. She was delighted but apprehensive to share the news with her father. As she knew he was too possessive of her and will likely not let her go.

So she enlists the help of her uncles, younger brothers of her father. But they, too, are intimidated by him. They still manage to convince him and heartbroken, Prasad Rao has to let his daughter go. She joins the job and a month later she goes missing. What happened? Before revealing that, first establish some more context.
